Choosing a Dofus private server, from version to rates
1.29 or 2.x, rates, like or fun, multi-account rules and launcher safety. What to check before choosing a Dofus private server.

A Dofus private server is a server run by an independent community, running its own version of the game outside Ankama's servers. There are dozens of them, and they differ a lot. Here is how to find the one that suits you, and how to join it without putting your accounts at risk.
Pick your version
1.29 servers bring back the last version of Dofus 1, with its original art style, classes and a difficulty that long-time players love. 2.x servers bring back Dofus 2, with more classes, zones, dungeons and a more modern interface. Every listing in the ranking shows the server's version.
Rates, like or fun server
Rates multiply experience, drops and sometimes kamas.
- A like server keeps rates close to the official game. Progression is slow and the economy is built by players, as on Ankama's servers.
- A semi-like server speeds up progression without making it instant.
- A fun server takes you to the level cap very quickly and focuses on PvP, high-level dungeons and events.
If you are coming back to Dofus after years away, a like or semi-like server will bring back the original feel. If you want to play at high level right away, go for a fun server.
Multi-account rules and shop
Some servers limit how many characters can be online at once, others leave it open. That choice changes the economy and PvP a lot, so check the rule on the listing or the server's Discord.
Many servers fund themselves with shop points. A shop limited to cosmetics and comfort is fairer than one that sells powerful gear.
Joining a server safely
Each server provides its own launcher or client, to download from its website or Discord. You then create an account on the server's website and log in from that launcher.
- Only download the launcher from the server's official website or Discord, then scan it with your antivirus.
- Your Ankama account is useless on a private server. Never type it anywhere other than on Ankama's own services.
- Use a password that differs from all your other accounts.
- Never spend more than you are ready to lose. A private server can close or start over from scratch overnight.
Frequently asked questions
Are Dofus private servers allowed?
No. Ankama's terms of use prohibit connecting to its games through unofficial servers, and the teams running these servers remain responsible for their activity. To play 1.29 without that risk, Ankama offers the official Dofus Retro.
How can I tell if a server is active?
A Dofus server's player count cannot be measured reliably. Look at votes from the last 30 days, player reviews and Discord activity instead. Rankserveurs also checks that the login server answers.
What should I do if a server looks suspicious?
Dubious launcher, password request, a promise that sounds too good? Report the listing from its page, and the Rankserveurs team will review it.
